Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County's mission is to eliminate poverty housing in our county by building simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with people from all walks of life, regardless of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, national or ethnic origin or physical disability.
Applicant families (or individuals) become partners with Habitat, taking part in the construction of their own or another Habitat home. When completed, the home is then sold to the partner family based on the principles of no interest, no profit mortgage. The mortgage payments go into a revolving account which is used to fund the construction of future Habitat homes.
"The feeling of knowing I am a Habitat Homeowner is indescribable. Life for my family and myself had a great turnaround from the moment we were qualified for the program. Words alone could not describe how thankful we are for the Habitat for Humanity program and its volunteers."
