(*Habitat
for Humanity of Montgomery County volunteers
A work crew is typically made up of six people; if your group is larger then six, please request more then one site. Currently we are working on seven homes in Montgomery County: five new row homes in Norristown (Carriage Stone Project) and two rehab homes in Pottstown (Beech Street). Build days and activities* vary week to week, larger groups should request a Carriage Stone home since the site is larger; we build there on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. We build on Beech Street on Saturdays only. If you have a build preferences please note that on your application form. All volunteers must be 18 or older to work on a construction site.
See you onsite! |

Suggested ways to fundraise may include: Buy a brick for Habitat: Corporation members make a Habitat display starting with an outline of a house. Employees donate $1.00 to buy a one paper brick, add the bricks inside the house and watch it grow! This a good way to get the whole company involved even if all the employees aren’t able to join us on a build day. Jean Friday: Each employee can donate $1.00 to Habitat and wear the all so cozy jeans to work and a specified Friday. This is an easy way to raise money and can be an ongoing event for other non-profits as well. Recycle: Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County is part of the Habitat Cans program. Habitat has posters, bumper stickers and other promotional items for your company to use to help promote the program. A member of your company collects cans and takes them to a local recycling center, records the pounds and amount of money you collected and in turn donates the funds back to Habitat. Team member sponsorship: Have each member of your team raise $100.00 by finding sponsorship. Some ideas may include quitting smoking (every day this member doesn’t light up the sponsor(s) will donate a determined amount of money.) or losing weight (every pound lost equals money for Habitat), the more creative and personal the member makes it, the more fun it will be for your office, family, friends to get involved! Habitat Drop Box: Place a box in your office along with a display about Habitat (Our office can supply some promotional items such as a Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County fact sheet, and brochures, the number of homes we have rehabbed and even pictures of the site you will be working on.) Collect tool boxes, gift cards, can goods for new home owners. Brown Bag It? Bring your lunch instead of buying it one day per week, ask your colleagues to do the same and collect the money saved for Habitat. |

* Every job is an essential piece in the Habitat for Humanity puzzle. Some activities that your group may be doing will be hammering, painting, lawn care and maintenance, trips to our local construction store for supplies, trash removal and the use of power tools. Please keep in mind that every job is important to Habitat, most of the work we do can’t be done by our staff alone, its volunteers like you that make all the difference in our day!
