Build Futures as a Habitat AmeriCorps!

From May 22-28, our AmeriCorps members, Maria and Ma-Tenneh got to travel to North Carolina for Build-A-Thon!

Every year, AmeriCorps members and alumni from across the country travel to select cities to help local Habitat for Humanity organizations meet the need for decent and affordable housing in their communities.  This event happens over the course of two separate weeks, in three different states, and these week-long builds celebrating the impact made through Habitat's partnership with AmeriCorps through the Corporation for National & Community Service.  Nearly 100 members come together to build and repair multiple homes in just a weeks’ time!  Our members were able to travel to North Carolina this year, and enjoyed their time building, learning, and meeting other amazing AmeriCorps serving all over the United States!  Participating in Build-A-Thon is definitely a big, and fun, perk of being a part of the AmeriCorps service team with Habitat for Humanity!

What IMPACT does AmeriCorps have with Habitat for Humanity?

Do you want to help make an IMPACT in Montgomery County?

We have FOUR available positions!

(2) Construction Site Leaders:  This AmeriCorps position will help to lead building and rehabilitation projects within Montgomery County with groups of volunteers and alongside other staff members.

(1) Family Services Coordinator:  This AmeriCorps position will be assisting with our Kids Care and Almost Home programs, and working alongside our Neighborhood Revitalization Coordinator.

(1) Resource Development VISTA:  This AmeriCorps position will be working alongside our Volunteer and Community Relations Manager to develop a strong relationship with the surrounding churches and religious organizations throughout Montgomery County.

In these positions you will receive trainings and truly become part of the Habitat family.  You will have the opportunity to participate in Build-A-Thon regardless of your position with our affiliate, and if you complete all of your hours on time, you can receive an educational stipend at the end of your term of service.  Anticipated start date for these positions is August 2016, so get your applications in today!
