April 11-17 is National Volunteer Appreciation Week and we could not be more grateful for our volunteers!  The role that volunteers play in our organization is huge and we enjoy working with them every day.  Our wonderful volunteers help in a variety of capacities including Construction, ReStore, Family Services, and in our offices!  Do any of these interest you?  Let us know, and get involved, as we are always looking for more volunteers!

We have had volunteers continue to come back year after year and we truly appreciate all of the hard work and effort that they have put in to help Habitat Montco continue to grow and push the organization forward.  Our volunteers continue to amaze our staff with their loyalty, flexibility, generosity, and by the amount of work they can do in such a short amount of time!

Our volunteers on the construction sites are so loyal and have been such a great asset to the community.  These volunteers help to lower the costs of building houses by allowing us to get work done without hiring so many contractors!  We are constantly looking for skilled volunteers to help make a difference and assist in the building, rehabilitations, and critical repairs of these homes.  These volunteers have helped countless families realize their dream of homeownership in our simple, decent, affordable homes and have watched these families flourish in their communities.

In addition to building, volunteers help many other parts of the organization run smoothly.  Our Board of Directors is constantly making sure that the organization is running without any problems, and helping to select the amazing families that will become the next Habitat homeowners.  Our Family Services volunteers help out with our Kids Club each week, as well as our Almost Home Financial Literacy Program twice a week!  We also have volunteers working in our offices to import data and help out with the day-to-day activities.  Without these wonderful volunteers, we would not be able to do the amount of work that we do!

The volunteers we have at the ReStore are some of the best!  Their day-to-day interactions with our shoppers is what keeps customers coming back.  These folks work to help move furniture, organize donations, assist customers with taking their purchases out to their cars, and operate the register, among other things.  Along with our staff, the volunteers are truly what make this organization continue to grow!

From the entire staff here at Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, THANK YOU, VOLUNTEERS for everything, and we are very grateful for all you do! We appreciate you!
