Feel the Love

Volunteers are the backbone of any philanthropic based organization. Fortunately, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County has been blessed with the best! There’s much to be said about anyone who consciously donates their time towards a cause that betters the lives of others, there’s more to be said about our group here! Of course, I am completely, absolutely, certainly 100% bias, but I truly believe that the volunteers who come our way are heaven sent.

Only having been a part of the organization since September, I quickly learned that volunteering with HFHMC is much like being taken in by a loving family. The culture and comradery almost instantaneously draws you into a level of comfort which reassures you that this is a great fit for just about anybody. One of the coolest things about this job is meeting so many different people from varying walks of life, listening to their stories and finding out how they ended up here at Habitat. You’d be AMAZED! No matter your age, background, marital status, etc., there’s one common goal and there’s a job for you!

“With great volunteers comes a great responsibility to show appreciation!” – Anonymous (Jk, I said this!)

While the staff here at HFHMC does our best to show our volunteers how much we love and appreciate their dedication to the organization 365 days a year, it’s time to focus solely on saying, “Thank you”. From April 12 to April 18, HFHMC will over emphasize how much we truly value our volunteers during Volunteer Appreciation week. If I were you, I’d find a way to get on the volunteer schedule that week. Now, of course I can’t say exactly how we will be rewarding volunteers during Volunteer Appreciation week, but I can say that each and every one of our volunteers on site will feel the love.
